Rise Up Nimbly

Rise up nimbly and go on your strange journey to the ocean of meanings.
The stream knows it can't stay on the mountain.
Leave and don't look away from the sun as you go,
in whose light you're sometimes crescent, sometimes full.

- Rumi

I am trying so hard to determine my path, that I'm doing anything but rising up nimbly. I'm ending my third month at the urgent and family clinic. I've learned much but have ever so much more to learn. There is no end to the social graces I have yet to grasp with patients, colleagues, and staff. But it is becoming clear how balanced and strong a personal stillness can be.

Graduation Day

Although I have also graduated this year, I think it's much more impressive that Olive has! We just returned from her last Puppy Kindergarten class and she passed with flying colors (though she still has a tendency to want to fly after them). She can (but of course is still perfecting) sit, down, stand, roll over, come, shake right paw, shake left paw, crawl, stay, wait, and watch....the real test is whether we can keep up with the training! Anyway, she still has much to learn (as do Chad and I!) but I think we're off to a good start :)

The President

While we were away climbing with Olive at Smith Rock, the President was left to her own devices. Lu requires her litter closet to be wide open if she is on lockdown in the house. Sadly, it was open only a crack. Instead of taking that dexterous little paw and opening it a tad wider, she decided the couch would work just fine. Anyone know where to get replacement cushions??

The Underwear Thief

Well, we've discovered that Olive has an underwear fetish. We've found her with just about every pair of underwear that's been available to her. If it's around you can be sure it's in her mouth or around her neck. What can I say, she's a trend setter, so don't be surprised if you come over to our house and we all have underwear around our necks ;)

We've discovered all sorts of things about our pup - she loves salmon, frozen carrots, waking up at 6 a.m., going to the beach, all humans - even the tiny ones, she loves Luella (Luella is still not interested in this affection), the list goes on.....This happy pup loves life and it's a joy to be with her.
